Oak Creek Mayor Dan Bukiewicz Endorses Erik Brooks for Assembly

SOUTH MILWAUKEE – Erik Brooks, mayor of South Milwaukee and candidate for the 21st
District of the Wisconsin State Assembly, today announced the endorsement of Oak Creek
Mayor Dan Bukiewicz.

Bukiewicz joins Franklin Mayor Steve Olson in supporting Brooks’ campaign for a district that includes all of Oak Creek and part of Franklin.

Bukiewicz stated, “During my time as mayor of Erik’s neighboring community, I’ve always known him to be a fair, balanced, and inclusive leader who puts the people he represents first. It’s why South Milwaukee has seen clear and significant progress in his time leading the city.

“As mayors, we have a responsibility to provide the crucial public services on which we all rely, and need to make tough decisions about our municipal budgets. Madison has not made that any easier. We need someone like Erik who will stand up for Oak Creek in the Capitol.

“I’ve worked closely with Erik and have seen his approach to solving problems. He never puts politics and personality ahead of what’s best for our communities. As our state representative, he will do the same thing, and will collaborate to address the real issues facing all of our communities. Madison is broken, and we need more leaders like Erik to step up and do their part to fix it. Please join me in my call to vote for Erik Brooks for State Assembly this November.”

Brooks stated, “I’m honored to have earned the support of Oak Creek’s mayor. Dan is a trusted figure in one of Milwaukee County’s fastest-growing cities. As a fellow mayor — as with Mayor Olson in Franklin — I’ve always sought his advice so we can take a collective approach toward building stronger communities. I’m thankful for his support and look forward to continuing to work with him when I begin my service as our state representative.”
